What ingredients do you need for banana bread?
To make a healthy oatmeal banana bread, all you’ll need is oat flour, overripe bananas, baking soda, baking powder, eggs, cinnamon, coconut oil
Dry ingredients
- Oat flour. You can buy oat flour or make it yourself by blending oats until they are fine and powdery. Oats are naturally gluten-free; however, there is a risk of cross-contamination, so if you have an intolerance or allergy, ensure that your oats or oat flour are certified as gluten-free.
- Baking soda.
- Baking powder.
- Ground cinnamon. Ground cinnamon adds a warm, fragrant spice to the recipe.
- Salt. Salt helps to bring out other flavors and provides balance to sweet recipes.
Wet ingredients
- Overripe bananas (mashed). When this tropical fruit starts to go black, they become sweeter, making them the perfect ingredient for baking!
- Eggs.

First, spray two mini loaf pans with nonstick cooking spray.

Whisk the ingredients until they are well combined, and then gently stir them into the dry ingredients. Don’t over-stir here; mix until they are just combined. If you are making chocolate chip banana bread, fold the chocolate chips in now.
Divide your batter between the two mini loaf pans you prepared earlier, and sprinkle a few more chocolate chips over the top.
