Cooking corn in the instant pot is very easy with these simple steps.
Remove the husks and silks before cooking.
STEP 1. Place the steamer basket or trivet in the pressure cooker. Add the water, place the ears corn on the cob on the trivet.
Use the steamer basket if you do not make a lot of corn and the trivet if you are cooking 6 ears corn on a 6 qt pressure cooker.
STEP 2. Place the lid on the pot and lock it in place. Turn the steam release knob to the Sealing position (or DON'T press the release knob for the newest model). Press pressure cook/ manual (or dial) and the + or - button (or dial) to choose 2 minutes. The pot will take a few minutes to build up the pressure before the timer starts.
STEP 3. When the cooking cycle has finished, then do a Quick Release of the pressure by turning the knob towards the Venting position (or pressing the release knob). When the metal pin in the lid drops down, you can open the lid facing away from you.
STEP 4. Serve your corn on the cob with butter, salt, and pepper, or as desired.
How to store instant pot cooked corn?
To keep already cooked corn on the cob, you need to refrigerate within two hours of cooking—store corn on the cob in an airtight container or reserve in a zip bag and seal. Corn will last in the refrigerator around 2-3 days.
Can you freeze cooked corn?
Yes, you can freeze corn once they are pressure cooked.
- Let the corn cool down after cooking.
- Cut the kernels off the cob and freeze in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
