Smoked sausage. The smokiness adds extra depth to your meal without overpowering the other flavors. You could also try using Chorizo if you want to add a spicy paprika kick!
Raw jumbo shrimp (peeled and deveined). I recommend buying frozen shrimp for sausage and shrimp kabobs. It's easier to guarantee freshness, and they're often prepared for you. Be sure to defrost them in the fridge overnight or for at least 20 minutes in a bowl of cold water before cooking.
BBQ seasoning. If you don't have any BBQ seasoning, you can use a combination of Paprika, garlic, salt, and pepper for a similar smoky, earthy taste.

- If using frozen shrimp, make sure they thaw before starting the recipe. You can thaw them in the refrigerator overnight or place them in the sink with cold water, changing the water every 30 minutes. This recipe works with raw shrimp, don't use it with previously cooked shrimp.
- For the BBQ seasoning, I used Trader Joe's 101 BBQ seasoning. Feel free to use your favorite.
- Make sure to soak the bamboo skewers in water for at least 20 minutes before threading the shrimp and sausage. If you don't have time for that, I recommend you get a set of air fryer racks with metal skewers.
