Bread boule: I use sourdough, but you can use a round whole wheat or white bread.
Brie: One whole wheel of brie to get it super gooey.
How to Make this Recipe
This baked brie in sourdough bread is ready in less than 30 minutes and has some of the easiest steps out there. Air fryer brie is one of my go-to recipes whenever I need something versatile, quick, and delicious when friends visit us.
- Combine the olive oil, fresh garlic, and thyme in a small bowl. Set aside.
- Next, cut off an even layer off the top off of the sourdough boule. A serrated knife will be best for this step.
- Place the wheel of brie on top of the bread in the center and, with the knife, trace a circle along the shape of the cheese wheel. Remove the brie and scoop out the bread's interior with a spoon. Save the discards for another use.
- Brush the smooth olive oil mixture on the inner circle of the bread bowl and cut the bread into one to two-inch even slices apart around the edges of the bread without entirely cutting all the way down. You will want to cut only the surface of the bread.
- Next, place the brie in the crevice of the bread and spray the outside of the cheese and bread with oil. Place the bread bowl inside the air fryer basket and air fry at 380 degrees Fahrenheit for eight to twelve minutes until the cheese is smooth and melted along with the toasted sourdough.
- Serve the bread brie recipe while the cheese is warm and gooey with your favorite crackers and additions!

- Be sure to remove the top of the cheese rind before baking the cheese bread.
- Instead of sourdough boule, use puff pastry. You may just have to make mini baked brie bites. Top with cranberry sauce for the perfect sweet flavors.
- Using any other type of knife besides serrated may be difficult, and I do not recommend it. For the easiest experience, use a serrated knife.
How Long to Cook Baked Brie in the Air Fryer
Be sure to cook the bread bowl recipe in the air fryer until the cheese is fully melted and the bread has a nice golden brown color.

The air fryer needs to be set to 380 degrees Fahrenheit for the best flavors. Different models and versions of air fryers allow the cooking times to be different, so keep this in mind.

- Oven – Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and warm the bread bowl for five to seven minutes or until gooey and crisp.
Do You Take the Rind Off Brie Before Baking?
That is up to you! You can either leave the rind on the brie cheese or take it off before baking. I like to remove the rind for this recipe since we are placing it inside the bread.

- 1 Sourdough bread Boule
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 2 Tablespoons chopped fresh thyme leaves
- 1 (8. oz) wheel of brie cheese, top of rind removed

Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic, and thyme. Set aside.
- Cut off the top of the bread. Holding the wheel of brie cheese on top, use a knife to trace a circle around the bread. Remove the cheese and scoop out the inner circle of the bread.
- Brush the olive oil mixture on the interior of the bread bowl, cut slices about 1 to 2 inches apart all around the edges of the bread without cutting all the way down.
- Place the brie cheese in the bread crevice, spray olive oil on the outside of the bread.
- Place the brie bread bowl inside the air fryer basket and air fry to 380ºF for 8 to 12 minutes or until cheese is melted and bread is toasted.
- Serve while the cheese is melty. Enjoy!
